Md Iddris

Md Iddris was born in 2002 in Toung Bazar village, Buthidaung. In August 2017, he was studying class 9 but was forcibly displaced to Bangladesh. He completed his high school in the refugee camp and worked with Relief International as a child protection volunteer between 2018 and 2021. He currently works as a volunteer with Plan International teaching science as part of the Myanmar curriculum teachers’ programme. He speaks Rohingya, Burmese, English and recently completed an online Deutsch Akademie German language course. He describes himself as an honest, caring, hardworking, self-motivated and quick learner individual. ‘My shot term of goal is to complete my studies at university level. I would like to work for the Rohingya community, specially with those most disadvantaged’. —Iddris explains.
He has a passion for painting and photography and likes to use these creative skills to portray Rohingya’s survival and daily life in the refugee camp. ‘I believe photography can have a positive impact for change, especially showing refugee life through my artwork.’ —he says.
